    Default Cooking Kit.....

Was looking for a small pan(s)for my new BOB set up....
Have the GI Canteen/cup/stove in a carrier clipped on...and a Zebra pot in another canteen cover clipe on as well.

Was just looking the pan/pot with folding handles...and cover in this set for $19 bucks....

Might just lose the Zebra pot as the pot and pan nest.

I've got a couple of similar sets. Looks like a good deal for the price.

My only concern would be about the quality of those folding handles. I've met some made in china models that didn't hold up very long when the cookware is actually used.

Reviews on the Zebra pot seem to indicate that it's an exception product. Why do you want to deep six it?

GI cup serves as pot....looking for more of a pan....with deeper sides.
But that said....the Zebra fits in an old style a GI canteen carrier and can be cliped on the outside of the day pack.

I realize the Zebra Pot is the "THE POT" of true Bushcrafters/campers, and all around outdoors experts....
but Hey, I follow my own ideas sometimes....

I still carry the Old SS Military Mess Kit, Old Frog's take some time to learn new tricks. (I even have baby wipes stored inside with the utensils) http://www.armysurpluswarehouse.com/...-mess-kit.html

If you are looking for a deeper pot then look at the Mountain Cook Set. It's a little more but much thicker gauge metal. And you won't have to worry about the handles falling off as M118 said. You can find them cheaper I'm sure but here's an example.

In addition to being a great bit of kit - the USGI Mountain kit will store a GSI 1.1L kettle and the lid (fry pan) fits tightly. In the kettle a cup or two will fit nicely along with the clamp handle....
I'd much rather be a disappointed pessimist than a horrified optimist....
