Default Indiana deer season October 1

Well bow season opens soon and been doing a little scouting. I hunt on families 100 acres that backs up to Hoosier National forest. Couple of camera shots

Way back in the day: used to have a Nylon 66 in a scabbard on the Allis Chalmers, us youngster's where directed to notch the ear on any deer within the fields so that you knew which deer to harvest first. Man those where the Good Old Day's.

I used to have pet deer that came and drank from the creek by the house every evening, 25 yards from the porch.

They would disappear the day before season opened and not return until mid-January.

    Same thing for the turkey.

I would be covered up with deer and turkey all year long and not see a single animal in the old spots for the whole season.

Normally I would locate myself in a spot where I had good clear fields of fire and let the hunters trespassing on my land drive them into the open for a shot!
If you didn't bring jerky what did I just eat?

Didn't notice a 22LR notch in his ear?????????????
Not a daily resident of cornfield county, Just a little (horny) interloper that isn't interested in a free meal. Not much of a problem to crop rotation.

I don't think that corn on the ground is what bait's them, they have been known to travel long distances provided they sniff out the proper scent, but doe tag's are of much greater value to local field-hands than the size of a rack. Meat in the freezer is of more importance than Horns on a Rack, just a culinary interest.
