    Default Need Some Help

A long time ago we discussed this on the forum but I can't find the thread. The discussion was using a wire panel, I think they were used for concrete, to form an arch for a cold frame that could be covered with plastic. As I recall the panels were welded wire mesh somewhere around 1' X 4'. Those may not be the actual dimensions but it's pretty close to what I remember. As I said, they were either used in concrete or maybe brick work...as I recall. Does anyone know what those things are called. I've looked all over the web and can't find them. I want to use them for a cold frame in a 4' x 16' raised bed. I have some other ideas but those seemed like the bees knees.

We did discuss the cattle panels but these were much smaller. Like I said, I remember them being 1' X 4' or something like that.

No, it was just a flat panel. As I recall it looked like this:

The only source I can find is in China. I would have thought Lowes or someone would carry it. (shrug)

1 foot by 4 feet is pretty big, are you sure you dont mean 1 inch by 4 inch?

I think that is panel size , not hole size in the panel.....

Any cement or block supply place should sell it. It's used often for driveways or poured walls tied to rebar. It does seem like Cement supply, Lowes, Home Depot or a lumber yard would have it. I remember some people using it for tomatoes and gourds (to keep the handles straight) years ago. Any vine plant would grow on it. It would make a great little green house or hot house. I usually just throw the plastic over a couple small trees with all the limbs that I stick in the ground, but I like that setup. I'm gunna try one.

Do a search for re-mesh. You can get in in the panels but it generally comes in a roll. You can easily cut it to the size required. Used to use this stuff when I worked at a precast concrete place.

Sounds kinda like what we used to call hog wire. Little bigger than you described though. Best I remember these were 3'X6' panels.
If by what I have learned over the years, allow me to help one person to start to prepare. If all the mistakes I have made, let me give one person the wisdom that allows them to save their life or the life of a loved one in an emergency. Then I will truly know that all the work I have done will have been worth every minute.

Oh heck that looks like 'chicken wire' with having hexagon holes instead of squares. Thinner wire than hardware cloth. Never heard the term 're-mesh'.

The re-mesh is beneath that wire in the picture.
