    Default Apologies - duplicate intro!

..just realized I DID already post an intro.. Sorry!
    Hmm.. what didn't I mention...

My real first name is Dawn. I'm a happily married. I am 40 something. My husband and I have 3 cats and no children.
I hail from Morris County, NJ, USA and am an admin assistant at a large real estate company.

Besides that fact that I collect cordage and enjoy tying knots, I'm a fanatical organizer. I've decided that I'm happiest when I can do a little bit of organizing every day

LOL....Some time you get soooo organized, that you forget that you already did something......I hear ya.....

I find in my older age that many people collecting things, for you cordage....for me.....Waaaaayyyy to many things....is my way of dealing with CRS.

It;s a good thing that I have gotten to a point in my life that I can stash "stuff" everywhere, so I don't have to look for "whatever" all the time........
    What was I talking about?....

40 something? That's about the age when you start forgetting things. So 40 something sounds right. I don't even remember decades any more. I'm on the back side of the hill...I think.

Welcome from Virginia Dawn, I use knots everyday, I very useful to know for everyday life, I have a boat and do fishing and crabbing, and I camp 6 moths out of the year in Virginia, when I go back home to Pennsylvania I do not use ropes that much but when I do it is handy to know what knot to tie.

    Dawn,
I am an "old" Boy Scout and I enjoy working with rope and tying knots also. It seems like I always have a piece of string or paracord in my pocket. You need to search the site for asemery's posts. He can do just amazing things with knots!

Welcome! You can never have too much cordage. Or coffee. Or bullets. Beans you might want to watch it on..or just remember the Bean-o.

Your next step you may not have thought about yet - Time to become an artist...

...you're no doubt familiar with different kinds of cordage. And different knots. So, do something with it. The 'next level' of your obsession. Make sculptures (hanging, or otherwise) which are composed of nothing but different knots one after the other, beside each other, interlaced, etc. The total shape, texture, and flow of the sculpture dictated by the various knots, and various types of cordage used. Three dimensional abstract knot sculpture.

And if you do, I wanna see pics. Oughta be real cool.

Ahh.. I think many have overestimated my abilities and I don't want people to feel misled! I said I love to collect cordage and I enjoy knots. I know probably 10 different, typical knots, but I have yet to master any bracelet type knots (though I started a while back trying a 4 strand braid). I'd like to do that, and have the materials, but not there yet! I have learned some about different materials, but am still collecting a few of those odd-balls (like amsteel blue - popular with hammock campers). I do have quite a collection of mil-spec and commercial grade paracordage in a multitude of colors (I like colors!), and sizes. One picture I can promise to post soon is I want to line up all my cordage and take a few creative photos of the lot of them... should look kinda cool for a profile pic I guess the best description for me is a small-scale cordage hoarder
