Thanks all. The etching was done at my gunsmiths (20 watt laser engraver). Not sure how often I'll have them do this (about a month and a half turn around), but it's nice to have it available for special stuff.

I never heard of a submarine knife before. On the frigate, we just used torpedoes on them!

All kidding aside, that knife leaves me at a loss for words. I know that the sailor who gets it will love it.

All Submarine knifes must be made of rubber for noise control :: with the exception of the galley. Very nice Crash

    Fantastic Blade Crashdive.

But this is more like the knife that I recall being launched from a submarine.

This is what we actually had in all of the escape chambers.

We had a TM1 on our crew who wore/carried a marlin spike and a Buck 110 folder even on patrol!!! I knew lots of lads who owned Buck 110s and wore them on the tender or while at Pearl....But Dale Burney was the only guy I knew who wore one on patrol.

    Default Submarine Knife

By the way Crash...Beautiful knife. Sweet sweet work. I love mine. I carry it in my truck all the time. I have gotten used to wearing it almost all the time I am in the woods any more. I used it as my "All around" when a couple of us went up to Yellowstone last September for a week trip in the back county in the Lamar Valley. I love it for food prep in and around camp. It really keeps an edge very well. I have used it cutting the twine off of my round bales the last couple of times, mostly just to see how it will hold up to that. It is doing great!!! Thanks again.
