Default Another trailer added to the fleet.....Pop-up Camper.

Well, there I was driving down the road....in our neighborhood.....saw a pop-up camper parked in a drive way about 6 blocks from home.

Stopped and read the sign....$1750....(talked him down to $1500.....

Looked to be in decent shape so called the number...and left a message.

DW has been kinda after me since we gave the older pop-up to DD....and I gave away the old 16 ft Shasta to a homeless guy.....so we have been with out a camper for a few years....

She wanted a big self contained....but we would need a place to park it.....so the idea of a pop-up again....that I can roll around in the yard by myself....looked to be a good idea.....

Guy called me back and said it was still for sale....so DW and I headed over to take a look...
    1996 Dutchman.....looks like 12 ft. box.....
Good canvas, new tires last year, 2 way refrigerator 12/115v works (rectifier) furnace works, inside in good shape, screen and zippers great, stove inside out side...table come out (in/out).
    Hooked it up.....trailer lights work.

Gonna scrub it down tomorrow, and then set it up......
Molly checking out her new BOV, guest house, weekend get away....and all around fun trailer.

Do dutch people pop up out of it? Is it like a dutch jack-in-the-box?

Excellent! Probably a lot easier to set up this than the big canvas tent and dining fly.

Yeah....kinda frowned on at rendezvous, and most likely won't fit on the AT trail......but still very primitive.....No A/C.
Neither DW and I like ground sleeping much......getting down not bad...it's getting back up.

Anyway, still handy as a guest house,... here and at the "Place"..... plus weekender with friends....and maybe ever a Glamping Vacation......Easier with the dogs than a hotel/motel.....

Got to hunt down all the "stuff" we took out of the last pop-up.....grill, chairs, tables, tool kits dishes (has some) coffee pot and maker, port-a potty, ......

This one had the awning destroyed, so not including ...so looking for one.......need something to hang "Tiki lights" from....LOL

Need to get some pic's......but did set up the Dutchman today.....going over the systems....as a check and repair.
Drain for the sink has a broken out let fitting and crack in hose....had to create an access port....and need a new hose/fitting.
Need new style fitting for propane tank and mounting bolts/or rack.

Determined that the trailer IS wired to run off a 12 volt feed for the truck.....(refrigerator, on the road).....
Also determined that the connector cord is only a 4 wire so need to come up with a 6 wire version.....add 12v hot and ground.

Trucks are wired for that,..... as well as back up lights, (not used) and electric breaks (not use on this trailer).....
So new jumper is in order....and maybe even a long jumper to operate from truck battery....pull truck forward and hook up lights....can run furnace as well.
Last Pop-up was set up that way.

Everything else seems in great shape.....DW is loading her "gear"....cooking and other "stuff"...don't ask.
So maybe a parts run tomorrow and maybe look for an awning.

Dug thru all my trailker wiring stuff......came up with enough wire of the different colors to make a longer jumper but still need the 7 pin male plug.....and the 6 pin male for the trailer.....Ahhhhhhh.

What a PITA, you would think some one would make the correct configuration or have all trailers the same......But Noooooooo....Azzhats!

Any way found the hoses, found the new style fitting for the propane tank, and picked up parts for the sink drain.
Ordered up an awning....guy gonna call me tomorrow if it comes in....about 30 miles away......

But he's gonna let me dig thru his "Box of trailer wiring stuff".....so we can come up with a cord.....LOL
    I like this guy already....

You can not minimized the value of having a "Guy"......
