Memorial Day is NOT about beer, barbeque, and hotdogs. It is about our fallen military men and women who protected us and paid the ultimate price.

Yep.................
Yes, as in the photo. Without politics, decisions of right or wrong, we are all lucky to be alive and have what we have to say thank you to those missed men on memorial day.

Very effective photo and an important reminder. I also hope that our policymakers and political candidates remember that many of those who should be remembered include the very diverse peoples who make up our country: Native Americans, African Americans, Hispanics, Filipinos, Asians, Pacific Islanders and others.

Great post Seniorman. I don't think I can walk over to the cemetery right now, but I'll get there. Tomorrow. I pass on the hoopla Mon. I wish I could go. I'll go by the Vet Home maybe Tues. I get more outa that then fireworks and speeches. They lke my dog too. Too fat for my old uniform.
I was over to the cemetery about 6am this morning making sure Dad had his flag and everything was cleaned up for Mom for parade day.
It's nice and quiet there that time of day.
Thanks to all you guys who have served. It's a day to remember you as well.
If we are to have another contest in…our national existence I predict that the dividing line will not be Mason and Dixon's, but between patriotism & intelligence on the one side, and superstition, ambition & ignorance on the other…

The realist adjusts the sails.
