Somebody mentioned "digging a well" every night, so it seemed natural.

    Sorry

But then btw if you're in the right kind of spot and you have a convenient shovel, wouldn't digging a hole get you some water by morning?

Are you walking and carrying ALL of your stuff on your back? Do you have to build your own shelter every night? Are people going to be shooting at you? Do you have a vehicle near by?

You can discuss some things about your super secret squirrel adventure. But, you mind is made up, and hey, we all need to learn somehow. I will just say this one more time for others who are considering it... if you need to dig a hole, a spoon sucks. Anything smaller than a full size spade is like digging with a spoon. If you don't need to dig a big hole, you don't need a shovel. If you have a vehicle with you the whole time, bring a real shovel.

I gave my word that i wouldn't reveal the adventure. And any details I gave might be added up. So consider it a compliment that I don't dare to share any details.

Would you like me to close the thread, or just put it on double secret probation?

No worries whatever you think best. The original topics definitely played out.

Tis a pity since we never discovered the secret use of the secret shovel on this very secret mission planned by a person we do not know using a screen name and revealing no other identities, locations or climate regions.

My only conclusion is that the plan is to tunnel into Fort Knox from a secure basecamp somewhere in the Daniel Boone Wilderness Area

I purchased an east german E- tool similar to the spetsnaz shovel thinking it will be useful camp/backpack tool several years ago, used it once now it is a very interesting wall hangar in the garage. I lied its not interesting at all, bring a real shovel if you need a shovel, use a stick if you don't.
