    Too late. Our state already bans it as I'm sure many other states do. Those guys that did the bank shoot out in Cali ruined it for everyone.

    It says possession or ownership... How would buying it up now help? In stead of buying it, call your congressman/woman.

    It is also directed at enhanced body armor defined as "above level 3".

    All that means is that you can not own sappy plates that can withstand rifle strikes.

    Still, it is a paranoid intrusion. Another tack on charge to pile up the years in prison for the person caught with such items when they remove it from the live or dead boy of the criminal or find in during a property search.

    I do not believe any criminal I have ever known, or any terrorist, is going to run down to the river and dump their sappy plates off the bridge just because some Democrat from California has introduced a bill.

    There are IIIa soft armors now.

    As regards the topic at large, I think I have made my views pretty clear previously but I feel compelled to reiterate: Nobody should be denied the liberty to own and employ an entirely non-offensive protective technology. It is insanity to try to deny it to almost everybody.
