Default Flint Knapping rocks in Michigan Lower Peninsula

Anyone have any info on finding knapping stones in Michigan's Lower Peninsula? Going out to do some survival in the Manistee Natiinal Forest, and wondered what my chances are of finding chert of some kind. Any help is great, thanks.

I don't think there will be much to choose from. Many years ago I posed this very question to a "man in the know", he told me that the indians had trade networks and quality stone used for stone points came up from ohio. You can still keep a eye out, never know what you might come across.
so the definition of a criminal is someone who breaks the law and you want me to believe that somehow more laws make less criminals?

Usually I go camping......survival is when the trip goes sideways.....but doesn't hurt to practice survival techniques.

Thanks for the feedback. I think I'll just order some chert online then.

I'm always on the look out for a knappable stone in my area, Tip of the mitt. I'll find one and give it a try.
