    Here's a photo of a old knife that has been in the family for many years. It was used for bleeding out hogs

    Looks to be an old navy divers' knife, used hard for a long time.

    We used to use a butcher knife to stick the hogs.

    For that use and situation, whatever works for you is acceptable as long as it gets the pig dead.
    If you didn't bring jerky what did I just eat?
