Default Anyone been to Knob Creek Gun Range?

Located at West Point, Kentucky. I understand they have a gun show in April and October. They have fully automatic guns people can pay to shoot and a number of other activities for gun enthusiasts.

Just curious to know if any of you have been there and what this place is like? They have videos on their web site but would like to hear from someone that has actually been there.

    Thanks, Jim

That's all they talked about....so they had fun.

I would love for my wife to try it, but fear that might be a problem when she realizes that between the two of us we just blew $1000 in five minutes.

I have acquaintances and neighbors that go to every shoot. Which is one of the reasons I have never been. It is only 90 minutes down the road from me.

Women are not discouraged and they consider it a family activity, as long as the kids are completely and totally supervised.

It attracts all kinds of folks and you can find yourself passing time with individuals you never expected to meet.

They are open for business every day but Tuesday, and rent all types of weapons at any time. You do not have to wait for the MG shoot to go. You could reserve some range time and specific weapons in advance, book a motel room and make an overnight trip of it.

The MG shoot is very much a shooting carnival atmosphere with lots of ammo being sold and shot up. A small fortune passes through that place at 650 round per minute!

$10 a day to rent a range, rent their guns or bring your own, same with the ammo. I have never been, but the boyfriend used to work with the owners wife, so he got invited down the often while he was working. I would love to go though.

I really wish I felt like I could afford to shoot class three firearms. I always get caught up in thinking that I can own another M1A or that set of brass barreled flintlock horse pistols.

God, I have such great memories of shooting M60s, M2s and 14s with a switch, with ammo furnished by the US taxpayers. LOL...I think one of the real reasons I started shooting Sharps rifles was because it takes me all dang day to shoot 40 rounds downrange and I still have a ball. There is no way I could go to a MG shoot and not spend a grand easy.........

I am still "stocking up" on 22 rimfire ammo, 7.62 NATO rounds and black powder.

I just need to win the lottery...... <very deep sigh> (I have never bought a lottery ticket in my life)
If I do I will buy all the ammo y'all can shoot at the next Rondevoo. Boy Scout's Honor.....

yeah, back when I lived in Texas and had to pay to go to a range, I would put a dog harness on my son (2 or 3 at the time) and strap him to the bench. I got some weird looks, but I think most people understood.

The weird looks were probably because of the water and food bowls next to the bench.

That just makes good sense. Don't want the little ones getting too much sun.

Knob creek is being interviewed by Wild Kentucky Live on ( Direct TV WBNA) they have a yearly membership of $100, or family membership of $150, which includes unlimited range time during normal hours of operation for a year, plus other perks.
