Interesting looking. I'd be curious about the history on that one.
The manufacturers used to make those as advertising gimmicks. No one was ever expected to use them.
Sort of like that SAK they make with every option tacked on.

If you didn't bring jerky what did I just eat?
Cool old knife Randy! I bet the thing weighs almost a pound.......LOL
Back in the day when people used different types of blades to do different tasks. Today everyone wants to do every task with one blade.
I am with KYRS though. Once you get beyond a certain thickness, the usefulness declines.
I've taken a vow of poverty. To annoy me, send money.

I think back in the older days, most people just didn't have the tools we have today! I know that I have more tools than all of my ancestors together in my shop, and they were lucky to even have a tool box with a few wrenches and sockets.
So knowing that, I think they were a lot rougher on their knives. I remember my dad trying to pry on things with his, and breaking blades quite often. I found 4 old knives of his one time after he passed, and every one of them had broken blades, and for any of the blades were left, they were all chipped and bent.
I still have those old knives and it makes me sick that they are in such bad shape! The one in the picture in this post reminds me of those knives, the blades look like H#ll!
I wish I had the gumption and skills to restore it
