Yep, red shouldered hawk. As far as the pup - a white lab - the people that brought him are breeders from Wisconsin and used him as a business trip to Florida.

The size should have given it away that it was a lab, but white is not a normal lab color. Generally, white dogs that look like labs (well, BIG labs) are generally not labe, but LGDs. I didn't really realize this until I got an LGD. Anyways, looks like you had a great time.

On a more serious note, those pics look great and it looks like it was a really good time. Nice collection of arms going on there! Clear skies like that, I would have slept under the stars!

The first day (Thursday) was pretty rainy, so I set up the tarp. Everything was open and I slept well.

I usually sleep really under a tarp when it is raining. Probably because the rain makes it hard to hear big foot walking around.

By the way, what were your settings for the star pictures? You definitely got Orion. Did you look for any planets?

I had the lens set at about 30mm, ISO 100 with a 30 second exposure. I wanted to capture the trees too. You can see them, but I need to play around a bit more.

That's okay. The it dredged up an 8 year old post thinking they could post some spam and get by with it. In that time, the idiots over at photobucket have changed their rules for the worse.
