    Default Accentuating the positive

So, I was scheduled to work today, which is unusual, shipping/receiving clerks aren't terribly useful on days when deliveries aren't coming in, meaning there is not actual shipping or receiving to be done. That being said, I was off on tuesday for a doctor's appointment at an inconvenient time, and inventory is coming, so I didn't think anything of it, my boss is pretty on the ball with operational stuff.

I get in, a few minutes late because I don't usually take the bus on saturday morning, and there were some schedule changes since the last time I needed to. So .I peel in to the back office, breathless, I apologize for being late, and she looks at me like I'm a moose on a 12th floor balcony.

"I scheduled you to work today?"

"Yeah, but I can go away again if you don't need me"

"Do you have any work to do?"

"not really, unless you had something in mind"

    "See you monday."

I could be annoyed that I'm losing a day's wages, But I'm choosing not to be. Because what was I going to do there? I will have less money come next pay day, sure, and that's going to make things difficult, but we will manage. It was a beautiful morning for a walk, and it's just shy of a mile from here to the bus. Granted, I could have done without two bus trips in the space of an hour, but now I have the whole day to myself. So instead of thinking about the lost wages, I'm going to count my blessings, have a nice lunch and see if my sister wants to go for a walk in the woods.

That attitude will do several good things for you......

Number one you didn't get pizzed off....( I have to work at this,.... personally)...and is good for your general health....(Blood pressure)
You prove that you are willing to go the extra mile to do a good job.....(showing up)
You can adapt to changing conditions.....(leaving)
Make a positive out of a negative....(enjoying your day).

    So congratulations are in order.

thanks..i've been trying to bring better perspective in to my life lately, I'm not an optimistic person by nature, and I wanted to spread the joy a bit when I succeeded
