    Default Winter Camp

Didn't get any snow (was hoping for some), but had a great time. Had rain on Friday. A friend in south Florida picked me up and we headed to the mountains in north Georgia. The group was mostly an off road crowd (lots of Jeeps and Range Rovers) . Had a wonderful time. Didn't get as cold as the forecast, but for this Florida boy low 20's was fine. Of course we're hitting that here in north Florida tonight, but it seems much colder here for some reason.

This was all on private property. The long range shooting was done from the house on the mountain top. The target was about 540 yards away.

Your winter camp is very similar to my summer camp!

Nice pics. Not your usual sandy beaches, white egrets and gators.
    Love the mountains.

Someone had packets of this stuff called Mystical Fire that they put on the fire from time to time. We were drinking some really good moonshine and the first time he did it felt sort of like being back in the 60's again.

Man, you had to walk uphill and everything. Great pictures. I love seeing your forests full of hardwoods. In our lower elevation canyons, we can get a lot of maple mixed with scrub oak, but mostly at the higher elevations it is conifer and aspen. Of course, out in the desert it is juniper or sage brush.

So, you remember the 60's, must have been doing something wrong.

Yer remindin' me how I miss the Appalachians....
True enough, my final home is still out there, but this is most certainly my home range and I love it. I love every rock I fall off and tree I trip over. Even when I am close to dying from exhaustion, a beautiful sunset doesn't lose it's power to refresh and inspire me and that, in itself, is enough to save me sometimes.
