Haha. Round here, all that is needed is gun, shells, license, and stamp. If you already have the gun (most do) it is less than $100. All the other stuff isn't needed, the geese here come right up to you!

I was thinking he was a little cheap on the dogs/training/upkeep myself.

And sport hunting can not be equated to anything except another recreational activity.

A trip to Los Vegas to gamble away one's income, vacation to Hawaii, France or Germany, perhaps the ski boat in the driveway down the street or the big swimming pool in the back yard.

Perhaps even the enjoyment of owning a house beyond the need of the occupants to the tune of a couple hundred thousand $$$ beyond the 500sq/ft survival demands.

I, myself, once caught a $5k largemouth bass and if I remember correctly the first egg my chickens laid was to the tune of about $500 in pen, chicken house, run, food .....

In other words, we each take our pleasures where we find them and no two people have to enjoy the same things.

That is one reason we are in the national Gun Control debate. Some folks just can not understand that there is pure recreational enjoyment in the shooting sports. To them it just does not make sense and all a gun is for is killing other humans.

    Yup, LOL.

You don't often hear folks sit a round the campfire or table and tell the story about that time they bought a goose at Walmart for $21.

Two opposing views. One man drives to Walmart to procure a goose. The other uses the procurement of the goose as the excuse to enjoy the trip to get the goose. Call it the price of a passion.
