    Default Road Kill

I was leaving the place for lunch today and passed a neighbor on the roadside. His name is Herbert and he was standing there looing at a great big doe lying in his front lawn dead by the roadside.

He was contemplating the situation intensely and I slowed down and rolled down the window. He looked at me and back at the deer.

"Herbert that is 150 pounds of meat and it has not been above 35 degrees since it got hit last night, go ahead and skin it!"

Herbert just shrugged and took out his pocket knife as I drove away.

Made me wish the thing had been in my front yard!
If you didn't bring jerky what did I just eat?

    Good advice...........
Just work around the blood shot spots....looks like muddy meat.

We used to have a "call" list at the County Sherriff's Office ...for people that wanted to be called for road kill.

I sure some of the venison MF brought home from the Ranger Station was road kill, or confiscated.......Had a cold storage building.

I always wanted to post a another sign under the Deer Crossing Sign......

What you should have done, kyrat, was tell him it wasn't no good and that you knew of a place to discard it. Then load it up and discard it....... at your place!

Have a friend that gets all he can use driving between his house and his farm . If it wasn't there when he drove home and it's there when he drives back to the farm in the morning then it must be fresh!
