    Default Homelight chainsaw...

So I have offices in three separate buildings. One building is not in a great part of town and we have a lot of foot traffic, a lot of inebriates, a lot of criminal activity. I was walking around the property and behind a storage shed could see where someone was sitting in the snow. They sit behind there sometimes to drink. Then I saw what I thought was a chainsaw handle so went and got the snow shovel. It doesn't have a bar and probably not worth anything but I also got a nice ax out of the deal.

Nice score on the ax....but gonna have to agree, chain saw most likely not worth much if anything.

Buy the time you replace both bar and chain...gonna be $60 bucks plus......then there is problem of getting it running.....Just had one of the old Poulan carb rebuilt, $45 bucks.....
New saws (cheap).....about $150 plus (Homelite fits in this category) ....good saw $350 to $1000....Professional saw $2000 up.

Fought with the Poulan saw for many years......have gone to a Stihl saws.

When they made that saw Homelites were not cheap.

That is the 650 Super and has a 100cc engine. Those were popular loggers saws around here back in the day. They could take up to 36" bar. Put that thing on a go-kart and it will do 60mph.

You are probably correct about getting it running though. Probably a hopeless case. With the pull starter messed up you can not even tell if the engine is locked up.

I have a saw on the back porch right now, given to me by a neighbor that just moved out here a few months back. A lifelong city dweller. He did not realize you had to mix 2 cycle oil with the fuel. He though the oil in the bar oil reservoir mixed with the fuel automatically. Fired up a brand new saw and burned it up in about 10 minutes.

I'll bet 1TS will know someone that can use if for parts.

Didn't we have another thread about "murder kits" a while back? That looks like something out of a Jack Nicholson movie. Kinda creepy looking in the snow like that.

    No body, huh?.......

    Yeah kinda random.

I am truly amazed what people toss out.... and along the same lines....what they will pick up off the curb.

    Nice axe though.
