Thread: snow shelters ever try them?

    Default winter debris huts

I've used these things for years. They keep you toasty. I build mine in the fall with leaves and grass on the sides for insulation and cover with limbs and bark, then stash firewood, covered with a tarp, and covered with leaves and such to discuise it. Food is also stashed so when I snow shoe in, I just pack my sleeping bag and ground cloth, everything else is already there. I'm 67 and still doing it. talk about peace and quiet.

Army made us do many silly things, one was to sleep in under just a poncho at 8f, not the best nights sleep.
