    Default Whining.........

I absolutely hate not being able to do what I usta be able to do.........But even worse is watching my DW of 42 years struggle to do seemingly simple tasks and getting tired so quickly. Wearing out just walking a mile on flat level ground. We have had lots and lots of fun and good times and I praise God for all the good memories but it still sucks...

Okay Whine over....Thank you for hearing me out. I rarely ever complain.....sorry I will try and be better.

Sounds like that old joke they tell where the guy goes to the Doc, bends his arm and says

"It hurts when I do this!"

    and the Doc says

    "Then don't do that!"

At the age we are approaching it is not expected that we be able to do everything we once could! Not from anyone but ourselves!

I had my first "crash and burn" with a ruptured disk at age 38. Slammed flat on my back for 2 years. Had another at 41 and was told it was going to be a continuing thing.

So at 40 I was hit with limitations for the rest of my life. Can't run, can't jump, can't carry that 70 pound backpack, have to stop and go backwards at the first twinge in the sciatica and even have to limit my time on the hard tile floor at Walmart or the mall and no walking long distances.

    Then the heart attacks started!

When one accepts what is possible and stops wishing for the impossible the mind takes a turn upward and you just chill and get on with what you can do.

"A man has to know his limitations."

As for watching a loved one struggle... Well that does suck, but it beats the alternative.

I will never see my wife get old, struggle to get around or look at me and tell me she can not do something any more.

I buried her in 2009 at age 52.

Sit your wife in the rocking chair beside you on the front porch and enjoy the sunsets.

    K,
I know. And I am so grateful that we still get to do things together. Almost lost her two years ago to a heart attack so I do try real hard to recognize how blessed I am to still have her. Thank you for keeping me on track.

Hunter you take care of that wife while she heals!

You get extra brownie points at the pearly gates for rendering aid to a Saint, and she has to be one to have put up with you for all these decades.

Just remember that you have to stop the microwave half way though the cycle and make it go backwards or the meal will only half cook!

Nothing like a little ice on the bottom of the mashed potatoes to get your attention.

Just kidding, I doubt that direction has anything to do with nuking food.

I will never forget when I won a new microwave when they first came out! My first wife being lazy and a terrible cook, cooked a turkey in it for Thanksgiving!
That was the worst tasting turkey I ever tried to eat!!!
