    Default Hi from Connecticut

    Hello Folks,
I'm glad to have found this site and I have been reading the forums to learn my way around. I'm a canoeist at heart, along with camping, hunting and fishing. I restore and paddle wood canvas canoes, and enjoy camping during the shoulder season with a canvas wall tent and wood stove. I try to take a couple of canoe trips a year, and Canada is one of my favorite destinations.
Here is a video of my last trip, a canoe in deer hunt in NY's Adrondacks living out of a wall tent. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MwA1BmBrc6U
Anyway I hope to learn and share some backwoods skills, and maybe make a few friends along the way.

Hello and welcome. Nice video. While the hunt didn't go as planned, it sure is a beautiful area. As you say.....there is always next year.

    Hunter63 saying Hey and Welcome......
Kinda a fan of wall tents and canoes myself.

Vid reminds me of a primitive, canoe in bow hunt awhile back.
Canoed in....set up, was great weather....next morning it started raining and rained all week.....

We keep the campfire going under a tarp ...more to dry out more wood, and stay warm.
Will never go with out a small stove ever again.
Tent didn't leak, but was damp and clammy...made it to Friday, and pulled out.

Stopped at a restaurant, and ordered bean soup and coffee.....and as the warmth struck me....fell asleep in the booth.....LOL...
Just felt so good being warm and dry.

Welcome from Alaska. As a newer canoeist, I'm glad to have you here too. Here is a video of my first big trip taken this summer on the Yukon River, from Eagle to Circle, Alaska.

Why do I live in Alaska? Because I can.
