    Default Surviving in hell?

Ok maybe I exaggerate a little, but I'm from Loranger Louisiana (about halfway between New Orleans, Baton Rouge, and Covington) and I was curious to find anyone here who is familiar with the local environment and who knows the skills to harness Louisianas survival potential?

Sorry, after a short mental trip down several theological paths I found that I had nothing to add since I am not from that area and my present attentions are fixated on preparing for snow.

I am sure others here have more long term experience with the subtropical climates.

After a quick Google search of your location it appears that almost everyone in the county should be a survival expert. There is nothing to do there but hunt, fish and go to the Pigly Wiggly or the snow ball stand.

Reminds me of the next county over from me here in Kentucky, where the last Thursday in every month is "drive your tractor to school day" at the high school.

Can't really help you much either...Hunt around Mansfield....and over by Monroe....but that mostly pine plantations and pipe lines.

    But that's about it.

It's a shame you didn't get to talk to Maggie Renfro before her passing.

Yea I do hunt and fish, but I'm curious about the plants and the soil contents and what they provide in food, aid, tools, shelter, how to get water, etc. if half of that stuff is possible here lol.

Id like I try and mimic what the tribes did who lived in this area. I believe it was the watsu? I can't remember how it's spelled. They all died out or dispersed into other tribes though, so I guess that should tell me something

Now I understand. The forum software prevents posting URL's (most of the time) until you have at least 10 posts. It's one of the ways we cut down on spam.

Oh ok. An man we've been working this tractor since the 80s haha, the decals fell off onto one of the fields. But if I remember right, Louis is a 700 farmall international. And the tractor I use on my little garden is a 56 ford 8n
