Thread: Portable Woodstove for shed?

    Default Portable Woodstove for shed?

Have 10x10 wood shed cabin with wood/corrogated metal roof. Have seen two kinds of portable woodstoves on Amazon, but they looks a little dicey -- Anyone using one they like? What kind of collar would you need to go thru the roof with the chimney pipe? Doesn't look like the telescoping chimney pipe is double walled -- is it necessary? Thanks.

Pipe only need to be double walled or have a double walled collar when going the roof or wall.

People use to make stoves from square tin cans.....didn't last long....just have to put sand on the bottom.
Home made stoves have been made for propane bottles to ammo cans, to milk cans......
15 gal and 55 gal. barrel stove are waaaay to big.

    Homemade:

I use a 3 dog stove for the wall tent and is sitting in the shed...but use a Mr. Heater (LOL)....and an 18" Box stove in the garage/shop.

Doesn't take a whole lot to heat 10 X 10 so many stoves are too big.

If it was me I would consider this stove.....

Sportsman Guide carries them as well for time to time.

That stove is a lot of material for the money Hunter!

I have build several stoves from 55/30/5 gallon drums and cans and I must say that I put more than $70 worth of labor into each project.

I would shoot the pipe straight up through the corrugated roof and avoid the use of a double wall collar all together.
If you didn't bring jerky what did I just eat?
