Thread: Hello folks...

    Default Hello folks...

    A brief introduction.

My friends and co-workers called me fifthwheel when I drove tractor trailer/wrenched on rigs. I've since dumbed it down to 5th as I'm lazy and can't really type worth a damn.

I'm originally from the Temiskaming Shores area. ...like alot of you I'm sure....we just grew up in the bush. Cub scouts, Cadets.....we were always in the tree's building shelters, trapping, fishing, n' whatnot.

Well lets fast forward a few years. I'm pushing 40. Happily seperated with three kids. Semi retired....and alot of time on my hands. lol

I asked a friend of mine if I could use his land last weekend, then ventured out to see if I could remember anything.
Only stayed the night....but it rekindled a fire that had become an ember.

Heading back up this weekend with a friend of mine to build a shelter we can use for winter camping. ...don't mind the diatribe... the intro sticky said to talk about stuff.

Welcome! Feel free to look around. Lots of good threads with lots of info covering just about everything, not just "woods" stuff. If you have any questions, I am sure someone around here has the info. Lot's of very knowledgeable people here.

Glad to see you getting back to the woods!

    Thanks for the welcomes folks.

Found lots of great stuff here already, lots more to go, and come I'm sure.

Getting back to nature/bushcraft is just a small step. Off grid independence/self sufficient is the long term goal.

Maybe Rick or one of you other esteemed members can tell me... Do members run "threads" here? Or just these blogs? Maybe I just haven't stumbled across them yet?

Much thanks again for the welcomes,

The blog feature really isn't used that much. Most useful content is started by members and those threads receive contributions from other members as they participate.
