    Default For You Bear Hunters....

Here is an excellent video detailing how to render down bear fat. Bear lard has many uses including uses in baking, etc. I've killed two Black bears and enjoyed the meat -- and lard -- from both.

    Enjoy.

Good stuff. I took care of the rep.

Always remember that bear, like wild foraging pigs, are susceptible to trichinosis.

You're certainly correct, Rick. I've always thoroughly cooked the roasts, chops, etc., plus the breakfast bear sausage I've had made. I have no desire to eat any of those little "critters" in bear and pig meat.
