Looks like he's getting "3 hots and a cot" out of it...at least for a while........and sounds like he needs that mental health help.

Default More serious than it appears

I absolutely despise this "element" because the transgression runs much deeper than it looks. You damn well know this is a sociopath who doesn't give a flying flick about anything or anyone but his instant gratification. Please don't let me near him in a dark alley...

I sure have missed my WSF hood and friends. I might have been away, but ya'll have never been far from my thoughts. It's a comfort to know you can come back home where they don't think you're a nut. (well some do, but I like them anyway--you know who you are)

I think part of his punishment is to be accompanied back to the site and clean it up......

Welcome back, B. Glad to see you.

When I was in high school we had a kid in the special ed class that stole a railroad tie and carried it about a half mile home. Carried it. He was caught and the judge ordered him to carry it back where he got it. Did I mention he carried it? So, yeah, maybe this yahoo should have to clean up his own mess.

    From the article.

The debris was eventually cleared in May, thanks to the efforts of 48 volunteers and a large number of staff from the Colorado Division of Fire Prevention and Control . The litter was transported by helicopter by those who participated in this mission.
Cleaning the park for the next 20 years seems fitting.

We have a shelter next to one of our buildings at work. People take the items out of the donation box and then throw what they don't want all over the area.

I agree the only way to handle that is to make them do community service cleaning up after others like them. I despise litterbugs. Someone who takes a donated item in a percieved need and then discards it depriving someone who might actually be able to use the item is so far beneath a litterbug. I don't have words for that kind of person.

Buckets, clothes, tarps, air mattress..... Looks like he was definitely at it a while, especially with that tree house. Seems like he was more living there than discarding trash there, not that the result is any different. I am glad it did get cleaned up and justice was served. I know that it was stated they were trying to assess the cost to charge him for the cleanup too. I wonder what that tallied up too?

That is a very careless person that will do that to a pristine wilderness area, but even worse there are a lot of people that own a little spot of land and do the same thing. And nobody can do anything because it is private property.
I use to run into trash piles like that in Oklahoma all the time when I was hunting. Would pass behind somebodies property and there would be a small ravine full of garbage!

I always bring out more than I pack in. I even carry a couple of extra garbage bags in case I run into anything serious.
People who litter in pristine wilderness should be brutalized.
