    Default Hello from Iowa.

    Hello. I'm Bruce.

    I'm from central Iowa, and am 52 years old. I work in the information technology field. I am retired from the Army National Guard and hope to retire from my current job in a few more years.

    I enjoy fishing, hunting, target shooting, camping and travel.

    I have done exclusively tent camping, usually in the Colorado rocky mt. national park area. Spent 2 weeks one summer when I was 15 hiking and camping there and have loved it ever since. We also enjoy fishing the boundary waters of northern Minnesota.

    I've always been interested in primitive and bush craft skills. I don’t really have any practical experience with the extreme primitive stuff, but enjoy learning. I would like to learn to craft a bow stave and cordage, and learn flint knapping, and do some deer hunting.

    I’ve been reading a lot on the site, and enjoy many of the discussions.

    Hello Bruce. Thank you very much for your service to our country. Welcome to our Forum. I am glad that you have found it and that you are enjoying reading the information here. I got to go up to Ely to the C. L. Sommers Canoe Base about 45 years ago when I was a Boy Scout. It is still one of the high lights of my camping experiences.
