Many animals have 4 paws and can get by on just 3 if one is injured or wounded but if one of our two feet is injured it really slows us down. However, I learned recently that if it is only a minor wound on the heel for example I can pivot most of my weight to the ball of my foot and still get by and move significant distances for many days fairly well.
Long story but my daughter dropped some Corelle ware which shattered about a week ago, and did not tell me, I only wear shoes when I absolutely must like to work or church or some business establishments. So I got a few shards of the glass/procelain in my foot most came out but one tiny piece eluded me. About 5 days later I decided to waste $25 and go to the Doctors office let a P.A. and nurse have a crack at it. What a waste of time. Numbing and blood clotting fluid shots and a lot of fuss poking around they could not find it, then she sent me for X-rays. The tech and I saw what appears to be a tiny splinter of glass up in there. If only my Doctor of 25+ years was not out of town. He has removed many strange foreign objects I get poked into me from wilderness expeditions, one even with some staph infection that was really messy. Waiting for a phone call and learning to adapt and be a versatile human on 2 legs, but wishing I had 4 and was reduced to 3.

Tiny black dot that looks like a spider bite is where glass splinter went in then calloused over after a few days.

Examples of other glass splinters of Corelle dinnerware on top of scale for size, compare to teeth of piranha, also not pleasant to step on and have break off inside your feet BTW. Fun memories from when my sister and I caught them on the Jari River in Northern Brazil.
