    Excellent photos and helpful comments!

My oldest daughter at age 5 learned to use an open spinning reel very fast and ditched her little barbie rod/reel in a hurry. Her younger sister had very little interest in fishing, would sooner have some cute boy cast for her and then one threw her rod into the river. I suspect she bribed him to do it. Later my oldest leaned the fly rod very easily as well, but eventually lost interest in fishing altogether. Typically boys stick it out longer, not sure why, simpler minds perhaps.

I have noticed that even farm raised trout adapt to the wild fairly fast if the people and wild birds etc. don't catch them within a few days or weeks.

Clearly living the dream - one lucky guy!
“There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn’t an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag … We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language … and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people.”

    Theodore Roosevelt 1907
