    Default Rothco Tactical Breakaway Pouch

Not sure where I got this.....Thin maybe from Rick back when he had Safezone.....But was looking for something to put my maintenance meds in....(late PITA to keep track of)........and had this still empty.
Not really a fan of Tactical, but this is cool.

I recall some one else talking about this as a possible tear away FAK...or maybe a PSK ....anyway this is working well.
Pic is from the interweb....and set up as a PSK....

Might even consider a couple of more.

Cool Well, since you brought it up.....

I prefer the Condor brand, I own two of these. One is a 1st aid kit, the other an SK....

    Wasn't pushing a brand....just the style....
The Condor listed doesn't have an expanded picture or the inside....Most likely are as good or better.
The Rothco happens to be the one I had available.

The different compartments make it easy to keep organized.

As far as I can tell, Condor makes them and rebrands them for Rothco. They appear to be identical in every way.

Most all my other bags are old milsup ammo carriers or FAK pouches......and am really surprised it got moved around until it found a home.
Having to take all these daily meds is kinda a new thing.....and after carrying the meds around in a plastic grocery bag, was looking for an official "Pill Bag"....and was really surprised there is much available in the market place.

Figured it would be a slam dunk at CVA or Walgreens that have a "As Seen on TV" section......BUT seems to be an underserved market.
All sorts of the MTWTFSS boxes with alarms and flashing lights, one week, month....but no where or nothing to store the original bottles.

Another thread....What to do with all those bottles?

I recycle mine. Depending on the size you can use them for any number of things from storing ammo, batteries or even a fishing kit. But after you have ten zillion it's time to start recycling.

The little med bottles make great molds for pouring spacers for knife making.

I don't know about your labels but I sit mine in water for about 3-4 minutes and they slide right off. They use a water based glue.

If I let them soak....they just get wet.

Home Depot carries an air freshener in the aisle with cleaning supplies. It's in a small aerosol can and is made with oranges. It is absolutely the best thing I have found for removing labels and other "sticky" things.

Any of the citrus cleaners take off adhesive. Goo Gone works - if it doesn't melt the bottle plastic first.
We use an industrial "mold release cleaner" citrus based spray at work for removing residue.

On the med bottles that are really stuck, I just soak them until the information can be rubbed off so it can't be read and just recycle them. Not worth the effort. Others with the water based stuff or the ones that just snap right off, I keep. They make great jig lure holders as well as coin keepers if you have a collection of stuff you're saving for a "rainy day."

    Well, I have made numerous:
    Match fire containers...including strike boards
Fire kits, small ferro rods, cotton balls
Fishing mini kits......corks, hooks, sinkers line wrapped on a folded piece of alum foil
    Tubes for shotgun choke storage.
Storage, for small parts, bulbs, screws.
Small piece of buckskin and cotton patches, lightly soaked with Hoppes #9/WD-40 in gun gear bag.
    Meds carrier: aspirin, antacid

    Large version:
    quarters for car/truck wash
.22 rounds in it's own box....box fits pretty even in bottle, slides out when you need ammo
.22 specials rounds,..... shorts, rat shot and loose rounds.

So just a few applications I made and use....satisfied by this months empties....LOL

I have talked everyone DR. Pharmacist, insurance into a 90 day supply on maintenance meds....less empties, larger bottles.

I've been wanting to make a bug out bag, but I don't know where to start.

What would be the top 5 items to start off with?

We have an entire section devoted to bags. It depends on why you are bugging out and where you plan to go. Spend some time looking through the forum sections.

Ricks suggestion is a real good one....Too many people end up with just a big bag of various stuff.....

Pick your likely scenario....realistically....Then work on what you would need.......
I use the 3 days as a starting place.
    Examples:
Home,.... 3 days power and water out ....what do you need?
Hotel,..... 3 days...same as home, but add stuff?
Camp out of car...3 ...more gear
Camp with out vehicle....3 days. (carry your stuff)

    Then extend those days....7 days, 12 days....forever.....?
