    Default Knife blade grind types

I guess I have been hanging around with you knife makers too long....
Just noticed that an old knife, I picked up at a flea market is a "chisel grind"...I think?

Looking at the blade, one side is ground down all the way to hilt....and the other side is flat....with just a little dressing on it.

It's on a old "Imperial" fixed blade knife with pressed metal scales......Made in USA...1960's (?)
This isn't mine, but looks just like it...... but show the sides pretty well

    One side....flat

Other side...you can see where the grind ended next to the hilt...

I'm thinking "quick, easy and cheap"...and still works.

BTW...This was in a box when I found the old Herter's Bowie knife that I posted last year....
Still in the box...and was the only knife left....

I felt sorry for it, so bought if for $3 bucks....LOL
Guess I getting weird...but would have never noticed the difference if I had just left it there ...again.

Next thing you know, you'll be about to throw a piece of firewood onto the fire and about pull a major muscle trying to stop....noting that it has some interesting grain that might make a good handle.

    I remember those knives!

They sold for $1.98 at the hardware store out of one of those stand up glass front cases.

That was back in the day when they would sell a kid a knife because they knew you and your parents and knew you would get a butt whipping if you used it wrong.

I still remember the last one I saw. The sheath was wrapped with 100mph tape and it was hanging on a guy's web gear shoulder strap. That was back in 1970.
If you didn't bring jerky what did I just eat?
