IF ANYONE HAS SEEN THE MOVIE THE ROAD
the part at the end where the boy runs into this
family and a dog. whats odd is that in a world where no food is to be found
this family seems fed as well as the dog . that said anyone think mabey they were cannibals?

It's been awhile since I watched it. I found it dark and disturbing. I didn't think of cannibalism. I thought Hollywood bittersweet ending. Maybe they stumbled across an even better super stocked preppers cache. LOL.

Just remember that in Hollywood all your dreams can come true!

I'm remembering more of the movie. I remember thinking, in the event of a full on nuclear war, maybe I'ld rather be at a ground zero than live like that... but I got over it.

My dad always says "walk towards the mushroom cloud"....but he has a bit of a fatalistic streak.

See, what they aren't showing you is those people used to have a whole kennel of dogs. They aren't cannibals, but that last dog is :P

It must be headed toward 5-6 years since we had a thread about The Road .

The people were not cannibals, they were just very efficient survivors.

They had been shadowing the boy and father for some time, which is why they showed up to save the boy when they did.

If they had been cannibals they would have been butchering out the father instead of talking to the kid.

The theme of the entire movie was in that last scene; you can go alone or come with us but if you go alone STAY OFF THE ROADS!

For the entire movie the father and boy had been following the roads, the most dangerous thing they could have done.

In the military a road or trail is referred too not as a pathway, but as a danger zone.

It was a movie. Any resemblance to reality was purely coincidental.

Rick, didn't you see in the credits where it said it was based on a true story?
so the definition of a criminal is someone who breaks the law and you want me to believe that somehow more laws make less criminals?

Sorry, gotta disagree with that. The young meat is going to be the best. "Baby back & veal".

    I loved this movie
changed my whole mindset about PREPPING

I don't want to live one day to the next wondering where my next meal is coming from

test yourself NOW, mentally and physically, while life is easy

acquire skills NOW while life is easy

SHTF times could be coming soon / Greece dept repayment ( default )
    .
Knowledge without experience is just information

there are two types of wild food enthusiasts,
one picks for enjoyment of adding something to a meal,
and the second is the person who lives mostly on ( wild ) edibles

While SHTF may be coming Greece defaulting would only be a problem for Greecians...Greeks...Greekans.....ah, you know what I mean. That's why Germany has taken such a hard line on bail outs.

Yogurt! You'll need to park your azz on the St Johns river to get all the water you drink everyday. And stock up on the cheese brauts.

Most of that Greek yogurt comes from scrawny goats in Arkansas.
