Thread: movie TheRoad a question

The book is better than the movie. I read that book about the same time I read The Patriots
I didn't see the movie until a year after reading it when I found myself stuck on a 5 hour plane ride. It was that movie or some Disney thing.

    Kyrat pegged it.
There are hints all through the book that the father and boy are being shadowed by the other family that aren't quite so obvious in the movie.
Anything along a road is going to be picked clean. Farther off the beaten path you would have more chances to scavenge.

If we are to have another contest in…our national existence I predict that the dividing line will not be Mason and Dixon's, but between patriotism & intelligence on the one side, and superstition, ambition & ignorance on the other…

Ooops. You misspelled that. I'm sure you meant Sense as in Rick exhibits really good sense. My mother thanks you. My father thanks you. My sister thanks you and I thank you.

Remember the part where the father picked up and left that beautiful bunker with tons of food in it just because he heard that dog barking! I'm not so sure I would have abandon that place so quickly! I think I would have backed off a ways in the woods and just watched what was going on for a while before I just left!

Thought I was describing nature. The young are tender and probably disease free. If, you want to inject some weirdness on me. That may say more about you.

I didn't see the movie or read the book. Just sayin, when it comes to predators they would go for the easy prey. The young.

Oh sure. Use the old "I was referring to nature" excuse.

The movie is decent, but the book is better IMO.

Well if you just watch it knowing it's just a movie, it isn't that bad! If you are looking for true survival methods and wanting everything to make perfect sense, then maybe you shouldn't watch it. I have seen a lot worse movies than this one!

Never seem to have time to sat down and watch a movie. I will check the book out though. Thank all y'all.
