The deal is that it makes it easier to read posts than using a browser on your phone and trying to use my fat fingers to push the tiny screen buttons (yes, I know I can enlarge the screen) without having to scroll back and forth to read things. I don't use my phone that much to "surf" but it is easier to read. There is a bit of a learning curve on using it.
For my part, I find I used my phone more than anything to read books. For web stuff I find chrome acceptable so long as the phone is modern enough to have multi-touch so I can zoom handily. I do find I have to keep the font set higher.
