Default Sad day at the Badger house

My wife's grandmother passed on tonight after relatively brief illness. 89 years old, and she was running marathons until two years ago. Went in to hospital end of march, and never left.

My wife is, obviously, very upset, particularly since she's most likely not going to be able to make the funeral. I'm sad too, partially for her sake, partially because a really cool old lady that I wish I had seen more of is gone. Mostly I'm just trying to be as supportive as i can.

thank you everybody. today we are going to get our hands dirty in the vegetable garden. Aside from it needed doing, it seems appropriate.

It certainly was. Not so much her passing....we knew when she went in that she was very sick, but that illness was really sudden. If she was sick a day in her life before last year she never mentioned it.

    Thanks.

Quick update....the funeral was yesterday. My wife wasn't able to go, but her father made it down at least. There is, however, a week long mourning period, and my mother, bless her, bought my wife a train ticket so she can go down for part of that, and support her parents and grandfather.

In my immediate family I was closest to Grandma. It still gives me chills when she said "What's that light?" at the end.

    Be strong.
