Here is a little more information.
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pocket_Ref

I gonna say it would be more useful in a TEOTWAWKI reference, and it have a lot of formulas, weight conversions, engineering information.....
So if you need to know how long a Cubit is....its here, as well as the weighs of things.....

You do have to be good in math to use the formulas.......

So for a reference of useful things needed in wilderness survival...and to carry....not a real big help......but does have TP size pages....(that was a joke)

Now for a tool box, and DYI projects very cool for $12 bucks....and doesn't need batteries.

We use the Pocket Ref at work a lot. It isn't so much a survival book. Just handy to have around.

You're welcome. Collins do an awful lot of useful guides in their pocket gem series.

I put one in my family car's GHB. Since I may not be the only person in my family using the bag's content's, I figure one of those would be good. I did read it before I put it in, and I liked it.

I have the pocket reference as well. It's a handy little book. It has sections on weather, first aid, knots and geology for the outdoors but it also has sections for carpentry, gas mixtures, automotive and electrical to name a few. Much more though.

The SAS survival manual by Lofty Wiseman has quite a few mistakes in it, when it comes to Australia. I don't know where he got his info from.

I received one from a vendor working with the ship yard on a very basic system, and I have used it several times at work. I won't be getting rid of it.

Do you have any examples?..... as I just bought a couple for the packs.
Or was that just a general statement?

Of course I don't plan on visiting Australia in the near future, maybe not a problem?

I hear you have to hold your compass upside down to get true reading?....Is that true? (joke)
