Thread: Lightweight cooking...

I mostly just use a dakota pit, my 2 qt arctic canteen cup, and titanium fork/spoon (either end) the eating tool can be used for digging, as a measuring device, and can have a treble hook and swivel added to it so that it's a fishing, lure. Hung over a bird snare, it attracts them to the snare. I do 2 quarts of cooking at a time, one after dark, one before dawn, so no smoke shows and the pit precludes light showing. A sawyer mini-filter and a bit of aquapure handles the water treatment needs.

    Yeah what Crash said.....

Besides, the little stove gives off little light and I am done eating before the fire hole is even completed.

Many questions have been asked and none answered. That's interesting in and of itself.

I suspect that there will soon be a "stealth camping" thread.

I knew you were going to say that!

I hate it when people drill holes for treble hooks in my spork, it makes the soup dribble down my shirt.

I never could cozy up to sharing my spoon with a fish.

Are we going stealth camping ?

Nope, the jamboree requires color, comfort, lots of well cooked food and hot coffee by the gallon. Also shower houses and bathrooms.

    Nothing stealth about that.

I think you can still find these Swiss volcano stoves around for less than $10 or $15. I modified the water bottle on mine to make it into a container and cooking vessel that holds my lightweight stove, matches etc. Video link below. They work with sticks, heat tabs, small stoves etc.
