    Default Cheap BOV's

I have thought of a few cheap BOV's
    -wheelbarrow
    -bike(with engine)
-moped(don't laugh it could work pretty good)

Good ideas! The Plains Indians had a cart type device used to carry things behind a horse, it's called a travois. Of course it's situation-dependent, but it might work if you had to pull things in the woods. A wheelbarrow is probably a better idea, though. An old shopping cart (stores sell them on occasion) would work well in an urban scenario, but I wouldn't want to go pushing it around a city without a rifle. Make that rifles.

Billy, history has shown us that refugees use anything and everything as a BOV. Of course, they didn't consider them BOV. Just a way of carting all the things they needed. Everything from baby carriages to the most expensive 4 wheel drive. Just remember that once you leave your home you become a refugee like everyone else and anything that can go wrong will. Get a flat tire on your wheelbarrow, bike or moped and suddenly it becomes excess baggage if you have no way to fix it. The more complicated you make your BOV the more spare parts you'll want to have on hand. But your thinking is excellent.

Yah you would want to carry a bicycle type pump with you and probably some spare intertubes.

    Same old-same old.

    Speculations from fantasyland.

Does not matter what you use as a BOV if you have no place to go.

And if you are shopping around for the cheapest wheelbarrow available I am sure the ownership of suitable property is out of any realistic expectation.
If you didn't bring jerky what did I just eat?

A good aluminum Jon boat or a canoe would also do well if you're near a good river. And your bike would fit on it. I have made a trailer for my kayak out of 1" PVC that straps to my bike and it was easily done. Just a suggestion you could maximize your type and route of travel.

one thing to concider also is time of year region of country will dictate your choice of vehicle for the reffugee road.
one thing i believe most dont concider with bugging out is sooner or later in most cases you,ll become a victum
of the times. many realisticly will never reach there destinations, it,s like bugin or die.

Billy - You are far more likely to have to bug out over some weather related event or man made problem such as a chemical spill or neighborhood meth lab. Figure out first what you want to run from then figure out how you will do that.

    So....Where are y'all headed?.........
Anything there to help you out?

What make you think it will be better to haul, drag you stuff.... to .....Where?

Given any of this any tryouts.....?
I have a wheeled cart, used for hauling deer out of the woods.........carries a lot of weight, ...on level ground, with nothing in your way.
Hills, rivers, deep valleys trees down, swamp land........will not be your friend.

Any cleared paths will be filled with others.....given that any thought?

Yeah. I once bought one of those garden wagons that will haul 450 lbs. Tossed a couple of railroad ties on it and it promptly sank in the soft dirt. So much for that idea. It WILL haul 450 lbs but you'll never pull it.

You may be able to more stuff around if condition sa correct...and you are young and in good shape enough to do it.

It's a good thing that as you get older and are lucky enough you can afford tractors and trucks.

I've been thinking about just hiring someone to bug out for me. It would save me a lot of aggravation.

Harbor Freight has tires for wheelbarrows that do not go flat - I think they have foam filling in them.
