Talking A Bit Of Good News.

After a long time of unemployment and oddjobs, I finally got a break.
It's part-time and minimum wage, but it's a proper contracted job. I work for a wholesale company in the cash office. There is another bonus, I get discount. Maybe not earth shattering news, but it's certainly made my life a bit easier and I feel a lot better about myself.

Good for you. Feeling better about yourself is half the battle IMO!

Congratulations. Every step forward is a win. And right here at Christmas time too. That's an added bonus.

Every time an older person dies, its like burning a full set of encyclopedias that will never be published again. So, if you ever want to learn more of anything, just find a old tradesman and hang out with him and then when he passes on, not the full set will burn, you'll have parts of it to pass on to others.

Good for you. Do you have a family? Sorry for asking but I know so little about the people here. And if you have a certain qualification, maybe think about getting work in developing countries..you can make a lot and travel for free.

Congratulations, Winnie, it must be a huge relief.
Working trumps not working any day, even if you're not getting rich. Self esteem, meeting new people, learning new things, a reason to get out of the sweats and put on lipstick.

Not to hijack your thread but I now have a part time job also. I will be working in a little country store about 3 miles from home. I am excited.

That's great BTW. I guess we can both change our 'ladies wot lunch' status to gainfully employed

The economy continues to rebound albeit slower than we'd like. I'm glad to see folks picking up jobs and I'm glad to see job openings available. Congrats. BTW.
