Wow! That's a tough guy! Like Sinatra, he did it his way right up to the end. What a great run he had. I bet he had some stories!

He was born of tough genes...I've read about the Chilkoot Trail. Many died trying for the pass. He was much man!
Bibber was a hero, trapping done right can help to preserve wilderness.
Cool story, remarkable man! It is important to keep those skills alive and practiced. I had heard that large commercial fur farms in Russia were making it difficult for N.A. trappers to earn a living. Personally I believe well regulated, ethical tapping especially by aboriginals (this man's kids) and non-aboriginals like Mr. Alex Van Bibber who respect the wildlife and wilderness is important to preserving wilderness areas. Furs and hides also make great outdoor apparel, not just for high fashion.
I salute Mr. Bibber and his life full-lived!

That was a good story. You don't see many outdoorsman like him anymore.
There was a mans man, how cool would it be be to be ably to sit and talk to him for a while. Then again just a typical Canadian !!!!!!!!!
...then again, thank God.
What a lot do understand is there is many like him, that never get any credit of stories about them........
They didn't look for it in life, and don't care what other think......they just did it their way.....
