    Default Pineapple Knot

In his "Book of Knots and Ropework" Eric Fry calls this the Pineapple Knot. I started with 2 40" long lengths of paracord folded in halve and seizd together

This is a fun knot to play with. The ends can be cut flush with and hidden in the knot. You can cut the ends away from the knot and either brush the ends into a fringe or leave them alone. You can have more than one over under sequence as you start the knot or have zero over unders and go directly from one crown to the second. You can certainly use 2 colors if you desire. If you switch the direction of the crown knots you will change the direction of the turns of the knot

You always do some great stuff and it's generally something off the beaten path. Good job as usual.

reckon how much cordage this takes? I would like to do one with leather thongs as a decorative end on a hawk.

That would depend on the size of the thong and the number of "over, under" sequences. I used 40" long cords in the tutorial and had a lot left over. It is better to have cord left over than to be almost done and find you are short. Try tying one with scrap thongs to determine how much is needed. Keep a knotebook. Tony

Honestly, that's better than doing Sudoku, probably more useful too.
If you get a kid into it, it beats TV on any given day.

Thank you for all the wonderful stuff you post!
