Default To fix or not...snow thrower?

Big unit older started and ran pretty well for an old unit.....so hopefully that will get though another winter.

Now, I am dealing with another smaller 2 cycle unit that will run on ether, but won't run with gas.
Ran the drill, .......drain and flush, prime with fresh mix plus Sea Foam, new plug.....Nada.

Number on the tag, and tag says "Yard Machines Made in USA....with phone numbers

So called and got ahold of a customer service lady that seemed to be having a problem finding the model number.

Asked for the number of the motor, a Tecumseh....and after a while found it.
This took 20 min....so I ask if they had one she says, Yes, $80 bucks, and 7 to 10 business days.....

    So I ordered one...

Now a comparable unit, new, runs $400 buck worth....and in review, make me wonder if rolling the old unit out to curb, and buying new.... not bothering trying to fix the old one....is looming large.

BUT, I just can't stand giving up on something till I gave it a good fight.....
So in 7 to 10 business days all the smaller lower cost, only use for a small snow fall, units may very well be sold out.

To be continued..... To see if that move was wise........

Yeah, that's guy the company is named after..

If it wasn't for political infighting and power grabs between the tribes...the coalition of native peoples may have pushed the white man back to the coast....for a while anyway.
    Kinda like todays politicians.

probably needs the carb pulled apart and all the ethanol gas crap cleaned out of it.
so the definition of a criminal is someone who breaks the law and you want me to believe that somehow more laws make less criminals?

Don't do it these days unless you have a rebuild kit....gaskets are really flimsy, and stuff is worn inside......not much luck lately in re-building them.
That why I just bought a new one.

    Default Update

Carb showed up while I was hunting....have been procrastinating on working on it.....and thankfully hasn't snowed in the mean time.

Tore into it this afternoon.....drained that tank, took it off cleaned it out, replaced carb, and added new fuel line...old one cracked (may have been part of the problem)....added fresh gas/oil mix.

Let it run for about ten minuets to burn off all the old crap in muffler and such.....

    Back in business.....

That was like putting $400 bucks in my pocket.....and no ammo expended.

Yeah, my thought as well.....too bad the program is being discontinued ....I guess they are still selling out stock, with a hit or miss fitting, and problem with keeping track, bill etc.......seem the regular employees have bee laid off....and Remington personnel is doing the work.....or the story goes.....?

Anyway, I just decided that I didn't want to put up with the aggravation.......

Nice work on the fix! Money in the bank....or buried in the yard, your choice. Still money saved and that just feels good.

you could have saved more money by making new gaskets for the old carb from a heavy paper sack. LOL, it does work
