While making the stove, knocking out the walls of the block I had 2 cracks sealed with pine pitch glue and after firing it up no other problems

Not sure if it will function the same as a real rocket stove, it looks more like an "outdoor fire thingy". Youtube has several examples of real rocket stoves, and show how they run... I built one akin to the one you pictured, and it was nothing like my buddy's real rocket stove. Just thinking out loud...

I though it was a great idea........
I can recall a outdoor fire place MF built back in the 1950's out of real concrete block (heavy)....worked good for years.....than another neighbor build one made of lighter weight block....and they seemed to crack and crumbled from the heat.

I don't know what the difference is.....but the old block were much heaver that the ones you buy today.

Your version reminded me or the Russian Fireplace with the masonry directing the fire, heating and retaining the heat longer.....like a heater for a shelter.

I just wanted to point out it wasnt a real rocket, never to discredit the idea! No need to watch what you post or share... I dont think any of us want anyone to hesitate sharing something they think is a good idea!!
