    Default Home made deer flies

Gave my buddy all my deer tails so he could learn to tie flies. He made some that look EXACTLY like crickets. The guy is a natural, I tell ya!

I don't know how he does it, but I asked a LONG time ago if anybody wanted them. We caught a bunch of fish that day on home made flies from deer tails!
Security is mostly a superstition. It does not exist in nature, nor do the children of men as a whole experience it. Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing. Helen Keller

    Wow! That's some haul.
I have no patience fly tying, but have watched one or two masters make a thing of beauty from a few bits of feather and a length of cotton.

He's made some others and calls them by fancy names, but I don't know their names, lol. Maybe I can get a few shots of his work to post.
The great thing about the deer tails is they float on their own without oil!
