    Default Lurkers

So I was looking around the site and I realized that there was a number of members that don't post. They sign up for the forum, and then just read stuff and never post, yet you can go to the bottom of the forum and see that their active. I'm not saying that there's anything wrong with that. I too do far more lurking then posting, but out of curiosity, I was wondering if anyone knew about what percentage of the forum membership just lurker?

Also, am I the only person that realized this?

Nope, we've discussed it before. There's just a lot of lurkers.

Lots of info here that can be read without joining. The are 170 people using the site right now and there's only 11 users; the rest are guests. Of that 11, I am only familiar with a few ( howdy Istime, BornThatWay and Tokwan )The main site with the Wilderness Survival chapters would get a lot of lurker visits, I'd think.

Many join so that they can see the content that is unavailable while not signed in. Additionally, many of the "guests" are the result of search engines and bots.

I think many visitors fine the forum by looking for something and finding it in the archives.

There interest is pretty limited to what they are looking for....so join, ask a few questions, and move on.....or figure they are a good authority on a given subject impart their knowledge or view....and move on, in many cases , sadly.

Opinions are offered, differences are expressed....and sometime these get in the way.

Maybe a lurker will join in....and stay.....?

That was kinda my thoughts. You can't see pics and videos without being signed on, even then sometimes you can't see pics or videos. I am sure many of them are researching information for one reason or another.

    Default Lurker here.

I am definately a lurker. I tend to read and hunt then to try what I learned. I am not a huge talker but do chime in from time to time.
The more time I spend, the more I will post I suspect.
    Tis a great forum though.

Crash has sprayed and sprayed and those things just keep coming back. You should have seen the cob webs in the woozit cabinet.

Y'know. My friends use a blow torch......
True enough, my final home is still out there, but this is most certainly my home range and I love it. I love every rock I fall off and tree I trip over. Even when I am close to dying from exhaustion, a beautiful sunset doesn't lose it's power to refresh and inspire me and that, in itself, is enough to save me sometimes.

We don't talk about that. Let's just say Chris was not pleased. No sir, not pleased at all.

Oh, no. If you hand Crash a flint and steel and ask for fire I suggest you stand back. Waaaaay back.
