    Default Edc ?

Alright guys so Im starting my new EDC . SO multitool wise is the leatherman sidekick any good ? I used to have a leatherman wave and it go beat up . I got it as a gift . And for fire im just going to be carrying my zippo polished lighter . And flashlight wise im a gonna go with a Eagletac TX25C2 . Is this a good setup ? Would you add something ? Would you take something off ? What would be a good way to carry all of this ? A holster ? Thanks for any answer !

First and foremost..identify what you need..and I mean really need...then list them down and see what you have in stock.
No you do not need a 5" fixed blade for an EDC unless u are living in the woods and u need to walk 3 miles to get to the store through a thick forest.

I do carry somethings with me daily, and they are there for a reason.
    1. Zippo lighter..I smoke..so I need one.
    2. A Kershaw speedsafe folding knife.
    3. A Benchmade mini folding knife tucked in my paracord belt situated at the back on my waist.
    4. A mini first aid kit with scissors.
    5. A small CREE Torchlight.
    6. A fire steel.

That is all as due to my environment and anticipated situation.
I'm a Gramp who is not computer savvy, give me a slab and the rock ages tablet..I will do fine!

Regarding your zippo, wrap the outer case with 1" duct tape you will be surprised how handy that come in to use, remove the wicking and replace with cotton balls, if you ever run out of fluid and need a fire remove the cotton and spark it will take a spark much easier than the original wicking and the cotton works just as well, cut a ferro rod 1/8" and put it in the inner case next to the wicking now you have another back up, always have atleast 2 extra flints stored in the lighter, use a bike inner tube around the outer case where the lid cover meets the base cover it will extend the life of your lighter fluid preventing it from eveaporating for along time and the tubing also can act as kindling and will burn quite a while.

My work EDC consists of 2 sections: 1 on my person and 1 in the service van
On my person I carry reading glasses, a pen, ring of keys, Victorinox SwissTool, SpyderCo Teanaciuos, wallet, comb, ID badge, and of course, a smart phone.
My other kit is in a small Playmate cooler and contains: phone charger, snacks, water bottle, extra lighter and cigs (yes, I smoke as well ), and a light rain jacket.
When all else fails, read the directions, and beware the Chihuahuacabra!

Find the leatherman that works for you. I haven't seen a poorly made one yet. Get a flashlight that is as small as you can get. Make sure it is LED. A waterproof aluminum case is best. The brand doesn't matter that much. I bought a small waterproof, aluminum LED light that uses 1 AA battery, at a gas station for $3. Works great. The battery lasts a long time because it isn't a cree.

Carrying an edc around is a work in progress. You are always trying new things and getting rid of old stuff. Get what works for you.
I've taken a vow of poverty. To annoy me, send money.

I work as a cook in a retirement home, and do carry a pistol or large folder while at work.
When I am working I carry on my person the following items.
    1. SAK w/locking main blade.
    2. Pea lighter, it does not loose fuel like a zippo.
    3. Fisher Space Pen.
    4. Bandanna.
    5. Small pill case w/ ibuprofen, Imodium, zantac, and allergy tablet.
    6. Breath mints.
    7. Key ring w/flashlight, swisstool keyknife, small magbar/flint, and whistle.
    8. Hand cuff key.
    9. FAK.
    10. 15' of strong cord.
    11. Wallet.
    12. Phone and charger.
And in the fall/winter I carry a belt pouch with a headlamp, the area is prone to downed power lines.
I find that I use all of these things at one point or an other fairly often.

Thank you, Sam. I had to laugh at your post on the hand cuff key and having to use it often. You'd think the cops would catch on after you got away the third or fourth time.

I have different EDC's that I use depending on each occasion

    some common items in each
but a separate belt/pouches for each

    city

    bush - my biggest EDC

night - have to be careful with tools, don't want to get stopped by police with " burglary tools " depending on their mood
    .

Car key, house key, post office box key on one ring. Mace and about 20 keys on another, my work key ring. A debit card, driver's license and some form of chap stick, smokes and lighter. I rarely carry a purse. I try to live with minimal excess. Anything else that I may or may not have on me, I'm not posting on an open forum lol.
