good afternoon!
Farmer_Al here, just thought I would say Hi! I have been lurking and reading here for about a month now, figured I would make my intro post so I can put my 2 cents in every once in a while.
Mid-30's male, stuck in an office job to pay the bills, but run my family's small grain and vegetable farm in the Midwest as a side-job/project/hobby.
I've been an avid camper/hunter/outdoor enthusiast all my life - happy spending a weekend in anything from a large tent with a queen-sized air mattress and a bunch of gear to keep the wife/kids happy, to spending 4 days on a 10k ft. mountain peak in Wyoming with nothing but a knife, zero-degree sleeping bag and a 8x10 tarp with rocks weighing the corners down - and everything in between. I am pretty good at making do with what I've got, hunting large and small game - processing/butchering my own animals, etc...
I like (long walks in the park, nope, sorry wrong forum!) learning about new methods of survival techniques, adding to my meager knowledge of medicinal and food possibilities with plants in the wild, and just listening to good conversations.
