Just a quick introduction. I have been an avid outdoorsmen since I was a kid. Was in Boy Scouts (Life Scout), in the Outing Club in high school where we camped, hiked, rock climbed, and skied. Joined the Guard out of high school then went to college and continued my outdoor adventuring. After I earned my commission as an Infantry Officer, I went on Active Duty, and I spent the next 25 years serving the country I love. I was stationed in Germany, I climbed, hiked, and skied the Alps. I have been to various schools, RANGER, Airborne, Pathfinder, Air Assault, SERE, and Mountain Warfare. I have twin sons, who are both OIF/OEF veterans, and when they were younger, I followed them into Boy Scouts as an Assistant Scoutmaster and Venture Crew Advisor. I love the outdoors, and until recently, the job I had after retiring from the Army had me traveling too much to be able to get out as much as I would. Now things are different. Also, I teach at a University and they have asked me to develop an Advanced Outdoor Skills class for part of new curriculum they are developing.
I live in Connecticut
My Interests are: Backpacking, hiking, canoeing, bushcraft, survival
