Thread: Howdy from Virginia

  1. #1

    Default Howdy from Virginia

I am just getting back into wilderness survival, primitive skills, etc. In years past I have studied under Tom Brown, Jon Young, Charles Worsham, and others. But that was years ago and I got away from it so my skills need lots of refreshing.

I live in a little town in Virginia named Grottoes which is about 3 miles west of the Shenandoah National Park, so lots of Wilderness around.

I have been reading lots of threads and have learned lots I didn't know or had forgotten. I am looking forward to the journey.

Im in Roanoke, if your down my way we (daughter and I and you) can go hike in Havens Wildlife Management Area, about 15 min from my house. If you have either hunt or fish lic, you have no fee access. Most of HWMA is Fort Lewis Mtn, so the terrain is a wee bit steep, but we love it!
